In some areas, the neighborhood theater with its single screen and nostalgic ambience still holds out... with the simple hopeful sigh of a restoration effort or two. In Covina, the wait is over. 05-04

Unfortunately, the news isn't good. The Covina Theater has been visited by the bulldozer of doom and is no longer showing any types of shows. Yes, another theater has now been relegated to Lost Treasures.

Here's what the site of the former Covina Theater looks like as of April 2004. The fancy lettering on the marquee is long gone. 05-04

UPDATE 04/08 : The Covina Theatre is now alive and well. Much of the theatre building and the original sign was either torn or taken down in 2005. According to Cinema Treasures, the original plan was to restore the building into a performing arts theatre. Unfortunately, the building was deemed structurally unsound so the building was rebuilt instead. Word is the marquee is a copy of the original lettering. See the new Covina Theatre at Roadside Peek's Spotlight on the Covina Theatre. 04-08
