Check out the 40 Winks Motel and Restaurant as it stood next to the Checker Gas in Columbus, OH. It appears that the 40 Winks Motel is now a Motel One. According to the back of the postcard, the 40 Winks Motel is Within the city limits of Columbus, Ohio. 100% fire proof construction. Restaurant and service station open 24 hours daily. Every room has the following: Air Conditioning, Telephone, T.V., Private Bath. 75 Ultra Modern Rooms. Phone: BE 1-3615, 3190 E. Main St. on U.S. 40 East, Columbus 13, Ohio. "REST IN THE BEST". 02-09
The Haft Motel in Reynoldsburg, OH is located 10 miles east of Columbus, OH. The Haft Motel was owned by wrestling and boxing promoter Al Haft in the 40s and 50s. It appears that the Haft Motel is gone and replaced with residential housing. Per the back of the postcard, the Haft Motel advertises Restful Nights - Sleep in the Country, 10 Mi. East of Columbus on U. S. Route 40. Modern Hotel Accommodations in the Quiet and Cleanliness of the Country at 6765 E. Main (Route 40), Reynoldsburg, Ohio. The motel features: "Comfort for Keeps on a Spring Air Mattress" "Steam Heat, Air Conditioned, Private Tiled Baths, Private Phones, Private Garage. Phone: Reynoldsburg 4-6372; Mineral Wells - Fine Food". 02-09
Check out the Skyline Motel and this rather interesting looking marquee as it sits off of US Route 40 in Columbus, OH. According to the postcard info, "East on U. S. Rt. #40. Phone: Belmont 5-8668, 3840 E. Main St., Columbus 13, Ohio. 35 Unit Motel; Private bath-showers and tubs. Carpeted floors, room phones and free television in each room. Fire proof-Sound proof. Beauty Rest mattresses, radiant heat. Air-Conditioned. Car Ports". 02-09
The Sheryl Manor Motel in Huntington along old IN 9 is no longer in business, but the sign remains for travelers to enjoy. 03-09
Check out this old faded out sign found in Dublin, IN. The sign probably was once neon lit but those days appear to be gone. Kinney's Motel is apparently now known as the R&R Motel, but it did not look open. From the looks of the sign, the motel may have gone by a different name in eras past. 03-09
The Maples Motel is located in the town of Muncie, IN. The Indiana 67 was realigned to bypass Muncie, IN and in the process bypassed the Maples Motel. I am not sure if it is really open or not, but the "NO" on the sign was lit. 04-09
Plaza Motel The Plaza Motel in Bryan, OH is located at the south edge of town on U.S. 127. Check out the large boomerang style arrow on the marquee. 04-09
