This sign for the Mel-Haven Lodge is a good example of what unique marquees were all about. Check out the sailboat on top of the sign and the colors used to catch the attention of weary motorists dreaming of rest and relaxation.

Here's a 40-year old postcard of the Covey Motel of Salt Lake City, UT. Not sure if this motel is still around, but the motel evidently had an eye-catching sign back in the day.


World Motel
