This tall gas station sign advertises its services to the roadside traveler in Arkansas.
This Shell gas station was built back in the 1930's as one of a handful with the concrete clamshell design. This station was restored by the local preservation group in North Carolina and is now one of a kind. UPDATE 07/08 : This old gas station is the last survivor of eight that were once in Winston-Salem. Here below are more recent photos of the gas station. Many thanks to Richard Weiss for update. 07-08

Esso Here's another old petrol pump, this one for Esso Gas. Yes, hit the road at 22 cents a gallon.
A pile of tires sit outside this old gas station located somewhere in Arkansas. The building looks to be falling apart and even the letters for "lubrication" are no longer in a straight line.
Here is an old abandoned Gulf Gas station complete with pole sign and pumps. It's located on U.S. 29, north of Cowpens S.C. 03-06
