Big Peach
Gaffney, SC

The Big Peach in Gaffney, South Carolina was built in 1981. It holds one million gallons of water. The leaf on the left side is 60 feet long and weighs seven tons. You can see the sheer enormity of this thing in perspective to the car. The tower looks more like a big butt in the sky than a peach. That, combined with a spout that protrudes out at the bottom of the crack has made people refer to it as the "Peachoid".

UPDATE 01/08 : Here's another shot of the Big Peach in Gaffney, SC. Many thanks to Richard Weiss for updated photo. 01-08
