Mr. Lucky's
Phoenix, AZ

Traveling through Phoenix is not the same without a roadside look at Mr. Lucky's. In business since the 1960's, Mr. Lucky's and its joker-like sign is a real head-turner, especially at night. Alas, as many good things come to an end, Mr. Lucky's has closed down for good. Finding a good roadside sign is becoming a rarity these days as these businesses that date back decades are shutting down at an alarming rate. 07-05

Space Age Outer Limits Restaurant
Gila Bend, AZ

Here's the sign for the Space Age Outer Limits Restaurant in Gila Bend. The glow is from the sunset, not from any UFO's passing through.

The Space Age Lodge was fortunately rebuilt after a fire destroyed the restaurant area in late 1998. Don't know what those outer space aliens would have done if it hadn't been rebuilt. Check out the Space Age Lodge website for more information. 07-05

The Libby's El Rey Cafe still features working neon lettering on its sign. This cafe is located in Globe, AZ. All that's missing in this neon view is the lettering on the top of the sign that proudly advertises its "real Mexican food." 07-05
