Here's neon lit marquee for the Tropicana Motel. The lit up sign was more impressive than the motel grounds. 12-06
Near the Yuma Cabana is this sign for the El Rancho Motel. They filmed some risque scenes for the second version of "Getaway" here. It appears that the marquee for the El Rancho was changed in recent years from the neon one that used to grace the front. 05-06
Across the street from the Yuma Cabana is the neon sign for the Hacienda Motel. The marquee for the Route 66 Motel has marked the start of marathon road trips to Arizona many times. Here's a shot of the marquee glowing at dusk. 01-07

Check out this neon shot of the marquee for Andy Womack's Flamingo Motor Hotel off Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ. Not sure if this motel is still around, or at least if the marquee is. 03-08 UPDATE 05/08 : The Flamingo Motor Motel has been gone for more than 10 years now, demolished to make way for a Barnes & Noble Bookstore that now sits on that site. Check out this marquee at the Riviera Motor Lodge in Tucson, AZ. The Riviera is one of the old roadside motel signs that dot the Arizona Southwest. 09-08
The Wigwam Motel on Route 66 in Holbrook is another Route 66 establishment that caters to nostalgia. The classic cars in front of each teepee as well as the neon all serve as reminders to Route 66's heyday as the Mother Road. The Wigwam is frequently sold out so make your reservations early in advance if you plan to experience what it's like to spend the night in a teepee. 10-08
