Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich Farm

On the road between Phoenix and Tucson, near Picacho Park, there is a roadside attraction, Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich Farm. For the price of a cup of bird food, $ 2, you can feed the hundreds of birds. They sell souvenirs made from the feathers and the eggs.

Though not necessarily just a sign, Jackass Flats in Phoenix is worth the inclusion on the site. Check out this roadside treasure that's still a roadside stopover in the middle of nowhere.

 

 

 

 

The Thing Trading Post

Traveling the I-10 heading east out of Tucson, you will notice a series of roadside billboard signs advertising The Thing. Hmm, what is it? What exactly is this "mystery of the desert?"

Well, it's a trading post for starters. Word is that The Thing has been in Arizona since the 1960's. It may be worth the 50 cents or buck or whatever it was to find out. 03-05

Longhorn Bar and Grill

Travel through Arizona and the town of Amado and you'll be greeted by an interesting roadside sight. Yes, this is a huge longhorn skull and horns forming an entranceway to the Longhorn Bar and Grill. The Longhorn serves up southwestern food. 04-06

 

Bedrock City
Valle, AZ

Yabba Dabba Doo! That's the sign that greets visitors at the entrance of Bedrock City in Valle Arizona. This tourist attraction was built in 1972 and features the familiar Flintstones statues as well as a kids train. 01-07

 

Shady Dell RV Park

The Shady Dell RV Park located in the picturesque Arizona town of Bisbee is a throwback in time to the mid-century complete with 50's memorabilia, aluminum trailers, a yacht, and a throwback diner. The Shady Dell started up in 1927 as a place for weary travelers along Highway 80 to stop and grab some rest.
