As you travel through downtown Bakersfield, check out the historic Nile Theatre, which has been around since the WWII era. This art deco masterpiece is one of the famed S. Charles Lee designed theaters.

According to Cinema Treasures, the Nile was called the Bakersfield Opera House back when it originally opened in 1906 and became the Nile in 1924. The theatre was vacated in 1994 and as of July 2006 is now the Nile Bar & Grill. 08-05
