Oceans 111 (formerly The Chart House)

Palm Springs is well known for its modern architecture. A commercial example is the Chart House Restaurant located off of E. Palm Canyon Dr. or Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage.

UPDATE 07/09 : The Chart House is now Oceans 111, named after the Highway 111 that it sits alongside. The restaurant still looks the same on the outside. According to the Oceans 111 website, the building was designed by architect Kendrick Kellogg in 1981. Many thanks to James Cimarusti for update. 7-09

Here's the old Road Runner's Retreat Restaurant still standing after all of these years of being vacant on Route 66. The old sign continues to fade away in the desert sun and the roadrunner's head has fallen off as the old eatery waits patiently for another run. 11-09
