If you are ever in the Escondido area, stop by Charlie's Restaurant for some standard coffee shop fare. Not sure if Charlie's is open for 24hrs or not, but nonetheless, may be worth a stop. By the way, Joor's Muffler Man is right down the street.
Ever heard of Denny's Restaurant? Where else can you go for a nice dependable sit down meal or a cup of coffee 24 hours a day in the West? This location sports the infamous yellow Denny's marquee. Not sure if this location has not been "dinerized" though.
If you're hungry, it's 3 a.m., but you absolutely do not want to eat at Rudford's again, check out Kozak's Coffee Shop off Main St. in El Cajon. Not sure of its hours, but you can check it out. At least the neon is worth the stop even if its closed.
