Architecture SD | Roadside Tiki | Tiki Town Main | SD Main This section of Roadside Peek San Diego is dedicated to the Tiki structures in and around the area. Many thanks to Bosko and Truus for contributing the photos and info in this section. More Tiki stuff at Roadside Tiki.
To the left is one of the Yacht Sales places on Shelter Island in San Diego.
Check out this photo of the A-frame for the old Shelter Island Inn. Looks like the place is still doing some good business.
With a name like the Half Moon Inn, this place has great potential. The look of the entrance is superb and there are a lot of Tikis inside.
This joint is now a private club but may have been named the Voyager Restaurant at one time.
Welcome to the Bali Hai. Arthur Lyman recorded half a live album here, and there are still some nice Tikis both inside and out. Check out "The Goof" from the top of the Bali Hai!
Here's Trader Mort's liquor store and it's classic Tiki situated outside. To the right is a close-up of the newly painted Tiki, carved by Eli Headly. Humphreys Here is a shot of Humphreys, a superb A-frame Tiki structure. This is the last place built on Shelter Island and was designed by the architecture firm Armet and Davis.
Here's a tiki carved by Eli Headly standing outside of this liquor store. Yacht Sales Here's another Yacht Sales place. The only place that has a Zig
Zag style incorporated in with an A-frame.
