Here's another classic ten pin alley marquee ... it's the

Hmmm...what's this sign by the side of the road with the multicolored starbursts? Oh, it's Premiere Lanes, with a still good lookin' sign after all these years. UPDATE 05/08 : The Premiere Lanes in Santa Fe Springs closed it doors for good on May 18th, 2008. The bowling center lost its land lease and will be torn down. Many thanks to Lloyd Stone for update. 05-08 (Below) Here are photos taken on May 22, 2008 of the now closed Premiere Lanes. The marquee now calls out that the bowling alley is closed. There's also a handwritten sign on the door that states the same. 05-08
UPDATE : Java Lanes in Long Beach, CA closed its doors on May 31, 2004. It has been replaced by a townhome community. So now...where will they go to bowl? It was the last of Long Beach's bowling centers. Many thanks to Rick Medina, former youth director at Java Lanes for update.
If you're from the San Gabriel Valley and think of Santa Anita, the Santa Anita Racetrack comes to mind with its grandstand, flags, and the like. Well, this marquee for the Santa Anita Bowl maintains this feel. Unfortunately, the bowling was razed over last year.
Here's a good lookin' A-frame type bowling alley. The joint is a bit run down but at least its still open. UPDATE : The Clark Bowl is now closed. Thanks to Andre Eubanks for update.
