The marquee fort he Del Rio Lanes looks simple yet functionally fits the mold of the other bowling alley marquees. It's captures attention from the road.
A rather googie looking bowling alley, the Mission Hills Bowl features multiple boomerangs with space age lunar holes.
The marquee for the Corbin Bowl still sits high above Ventura Boulevard. Best of all, this marquee still lights up the night. Check out the neon version here.
Unfortunately, La Puente Lanes is no longer a destination for ten pin alley thrill seekers as it was razed over in 2006. 12-06 (Far left) The marquee for La Puente Lanes
The Westminster Lanes is still open for business. Though its marquee is not of the space age variety, it's still a classic sign for a classy alley.
Here's one of the marquees to the Canoga Park Bowl in Canoga Park, CA. Not sure if this bowling alley is still around. The huge sign could be seen for blocks. Check out the starbursts that decorate the sides of this marquee.
Here's a bowling alley that still appeared to do brisk business, even in the rain. The Bayshore Bowl is one of the last survivors of the ten pin alley heyday in Southern California and hopefully will remain.
