Van Buren Cinema 3 Drive-In

The Van Buren Cinema 3 is very similar to Riverside's Rubidoux Cinema 3. From the similar marquee to the lot, the Van Buren stands tall as a remaining open-air soldier.

Check out the multi-colored sign that draws motorists in to either the swap meet or open air movie.

Movie times at the Van Buren can be found at the Van Buren Drive-in website. According to Cinema Treasures, the Van Buren opened in 1964, then expanded from one to four screens in 1975. Now a three screener the drive-in is a year round ozoner.

Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre

Over in the Pomona Valley is the Mission Drive-In Theatre. Open seasonally, the Mission is located on a bustling street named, you guessed it, Mission in Montclair. Home to swap meets on off theatre hours.

UPDATE 05/06 : The Mission Drive-in Theatre is now called the Mission Tiki Drive-in. De Anza purchased it and is now installed tiki artwork at the site. 05-06

Lake Drive-in Theatre (Closed)

Here are remnants of an old drive-in theatre called the Lake Drive-in. This ozoner was located in Big Bear, CA. As these photos were taken more than a few years ago, not sure if any of this survives today.

If you take a look closely at the lettering on the marquee, the faint out out line of The Lake shows at the left. The paint was fading out more and more by the day. 07-06

Foothill Drive-in Theatre (Demolished)

Here's a photo from 1985 of the Foothill Drive-in marquee. The Foothill was located along Route 66 until it closed in 1989. A shopping center next to a Stater Brothers is now located where the drive-in once stood. 09-10
