The marquee for the El Rancho Boulder Motel will grab any roadsider's attention.
The Overland Hotel in Gardnerville sports a good lookin' neon sign out front, with the signage encompassed within a martini glass frame.
The Colonnade Hotel with its streamline marquee shines over Eureka. This lodging area is a flashback to the era where hotels had lighted neon marquees outside beckoning to the passing by road traveler.
Seen below is the marquee for the Lariat Motel of Fallon, NV. Check out the detail on this fine sign. Best of all, this animated cowboy still glows at night. Or at least it used to glow, at least since the 1950's. Unfortunately, the sign no longer stands as the motel was razed on February 9, 2005. Fortunately, the Lariat sign was moved to be reinstalled at the Oats Park Arts Center. See this website for more information.
The Pine Cone Resort sign still catches the attention of onlookers and tries to draw in guests with its offer of a heated swimming pool.
Topaz Lodge Right on the California/Nevada border is the Topaz Lodge and Casino off Topaz Lake. This resort lodge features a large dining area and casino to catch the attention of both locals and travelers.
UPDATE 03/08 : Here's a close-up look at the western scene depicted on the motel marquee. 03-08
