How about the Towne & Country Motel for some sun and sand? Not sure where the sand comes from, but there's certainly sun!
The Desert Moon sign features a yellowish moon orb atop its eye catching and tall marquee. This motel is one of the remaining survivors of the old Fremont strip, which sadly has many that no longer light the neon way at night.
The big marquee still points the way into the Downtowner Motel in Las Vegas.
The Villa Inn Motel in Las Vegas is located at the north end of Las Vegas Boulevard near downtown. The signage is still eye-catching though it was redone in recent years. 12-07
Here's a shot of the Villa Inn Motel before the updating of the colors and lettering. 12-08
The Normandie Motel marquee and its medieval themed hatchet dates back to the 1940's. The sign is now at the neon boneyard after the motel was demolished in the early part of this decade. 12-08
The Apache Motel used to be one of the familiar signs you'd see if you entered downtown Las Vegas from the south along Main Street. Unfortunately, the motel has met the fate of many other Las Vegas motels and was demolished in early 2010 to make way for the new city hall area. The sign has been donated to the Las Vegas Neon Museum. 09-10
