Fort Union Drive-in

Nothing like a bit of roadside entertainment in Las Vegas. Las Vegas, New Mexico to be exact. Near the old main street is the old Fort Union Drive-in Theatre, unfortunately now overgrown with weeds. The screen still appears to be in good shape however. Perhaps a good place for viewmaster projections.

Update 07/06 : The Fort Union Drive-in is open every Fri., Sat., Sun. night all summer with first-run flicks.  Last week-end was Nacho Libre, next weekend is Break up and Fast and Furious 2. Many thanks to "Susie from the ORIGINAL Las Vegas!" for update. 07-06

Update 03/08 : Here's a photo of the marquee at the Fort Union Dirve-in Theatre. If you look at the screen in the background, you'll see the bottom third of the screen has a mural painted on it that kind of matches the terrain in the background. Many thanks to Larry Glass for update. 03-08

Sunset Drive-in Theatre

Ever think about having a drive-in theatre in your own backyard? Think of the possibilities... home movies instead of the Sega Dreamcast. Well, one of Albuquerque, New Mexico's last remnants of their drive-in glory years is the Sunset Drive-in Theatre. It's located on private property on what looks to be someone's back lot.
