The Paramount Cafe no longer appears open for business, although the two marquees outside are still intact.
UPDATE 09/08 : The Paramount Cafe featured a couple of standout roadside signs off of Route 66 in Gallup. The cafe was still in business about 10 years ago. The cafe then became vacant and was appeared out of business on subsequent trips through the area. The whole place was gone during a trip in August 2008. Sad to yet another old treasure off the 66 disappear. 09-08
The Uranium Cafe still advertises its home cooking to the nearby traveler. This roadside delight and its fine marquee finds its home in Grants, NM. UPDATE 09/08 : The Uranium Cafe is shut down and is now for sale. The cafe also was closed and reopened in recent years so hopefully this isn't the last we'll see of the Uranium Cafe. 09-08
The Ranch House Cafe in Tucumcari, NM still exhibits its old faded out marquee in the parking lot. The Ranch House is one of the remaining old cafes on the Mother Road.
This is the Cuban Cafe located in Cuba, NM, at 6333 State Hwy 44. Looks like a nice spot for the road worn traveler to stop and get a bite and relax before getting back on the scenic roads of New Mexico. 10-07
Check out Lena's Cafe located on Main Street in Tucumcari, NM. The old faded out orange cafe sign still has an arrow that points the way into the cafe. 11-07
