Check out the the marquee for the Steele Motel in San Antonio. Not sure if the sign is stating that there are 3 rooms with the rest being apartments or if the whole place has been converted to long-term housing. 07-07

The First Last Motel in Texas is something of a Route 66 landmark. Depending on which direction you're going on Route 66, now I-40, this cleverly named motel is either the last motel found in Texas or the first. Found in the ghost town of Glenrio, TX, the First Last Motel is a fine example of a bypassed Route 66 business, left to rot as cars whiz by on the nearby interstate. 11-10
