The French Cottage Motel features a marquee that still lights up off the main drag in Hollywood.

Check out the Harvard House Motel in Hollywood, CA. This neon sign still lights up the sky.
When people think of the Dunes, Las Vegas normally comes to mind. Well, the Dunes name is a relatively popular one, so it's only fitting that Hollywood have one of its own. Especially since the Dunes name is just a memory in Vegas these days.
How about the Towne House Motel? This marquee is not of the neon or space age variety, though its colors and brightness make it noteworthy.
The Sunset Palms Motel is a nicely neon 'd marquee that's right on Sunset Blvd. Update: The Sunset Palms marquee is now in danger due to new ownership of this motel. According to the manager of the Sunset Palms, the new owners plan to remove the sign, or leave the vertical 'motel' part of the sign and put a new name up. Many thanks to Adriene Biondo for update
