The Paramount Theatre in Anderson, In opened on August 20, 1929 is is one of the few atmospheric theatres left in the states. After years of neglect, the Paramount Heritage Foundation saved the theatre and the restored building opened in 1995. Today, the Paramount is home to the Anderson Symphony Orchestra. More info can be found at the Paramount Theatre Centre website. 11-07

(Below) The Vogue Theatre in Indianapolis, IN was built by Carl Niesse and opened in 1938 as a first run theatre. In 1977 the Vogue was turned into a nightclub, which is still in operation. We are currently renovating the facade back to the original 1938 terra cotta.  It had been covered in 1960 with ceramic coated metal.  The black and white was taken in 1948, and the color photos are the current clubs look. More info can be found at the website for the Vogue Nightclub. Many thanks to Steven Ross, owner of the Vogue Theatre, for photos and info. 11-07

The Chicago Theatre is a French Baroque style theatre located along the north Loop of Chicago. When it opened in 1921, it was known as "the Wonder Theatre of the World". The Chicago Theatre went through a period of hard times culminating it its closing and pending demolition in the mid-1980's. The Chicago Theatre Restoration Associates and the City bought and restored the theatre and reopened in 1986 and has been home to first class acts ever since. See The Chicago Theatre website for more information.
