The Kona Motel features a tiki like marquee, though not quite on par with some its former neighbors.

The Grove Motel in Garden Grove is one of the last remaining vintage roadside signs in the Orange County town. Located near a former site of Bob's Big Boy, the Grove features a huge marquee that still lights up at dusk.

The Stovall's Space Age in Anaheim is another iteration of the Cosmic Age Lodge above. It's a shame to see these roadside treasure go by.

Welcome to Stovall's Apollo Inn. While here, dine in our coffee shop then take the shuttle over to Disneyland.

Although this extension of Disneyland's Tomorrowland is no more, there's still Stovall's Space Age Lodge in Gila Bend, AZ.

Cosmic Age Lodge (Remodeled)
Anaheim, CA

The Cosmic Age Lodge was another Best Western motel nearby Disneyland. This lodge reflected the old era around Disneyland when theme park signage and flashy space age names were all the rage.

The motel is now called the Best Western Stovall's Inn and though the sign is long gone, you can somewhat recognize the old motel building today.

Angel Motel
Orange, CA

The Angel Motel in Orange features a colorful marquee out front. The sign is one of the few still existing in Orange County these days.

Americana Motel

The Americana Motel still features is triangular marquee. And sometimes, this marquee still lights up in full. The Americana once had a neighbor with a pretty decent motel marquee of its own. But the Silver Moon motel was demolished in 2002 and Beach Boulevard in Orange County lost another reminder from the past.

Anchor Motel

The Anchor Motel still features its themed sign with an anchor on it. This tri-colored sign is still an eye-catcher here in Orange County.

This marquee once had a different look to it, back when the motel was first established.

Silver Moon Motel (Demolished)
Anaheim, CA

When it comes to marquees, there are few better than the Silver Moon Motel in Anaheim, CA. With its sign depicting a grinning "silver" moon and large neon lettering, the Silver Moon is a Beach Boulevard landmark. At least until the bulldozer got to it in 2002.

Many thanks to Karen and others for original alert on the Silver Moon demolition.
