Check out this old dealership in Glenns Ferry. Between the vintage sign and the building itself, it's easy to imagine a time when travelers rolled through town on old U.S. 30 long before Interstate 84 bypassed much of the traffic.

For decades, Shrum Motor Co. was a familiar sight in town and was known as one of the oldest Chevrolet dealerships in the country. Places like this were more than just car dealerships. They were often gathering places where locals bought cars, caught up on town news, and watched the latest models arrive on the showroom floor. 10-06

UPDATE: The dealership is long gone, but the building remains standing. Best of all, the historic Shrum Motor Co. sign still survives on the facade, offering a glimpse back to the days when Glenns Ferry sat directly along one of the West's most important highways. 06-26
