Bowling Alleys California Desert

Beacon Bowl (Removed)
Barstow, CA

Traveling along Route 66 and interested in making a stop and bowl a few games? Well, until a few years ago, you could've done so at the Beacon Bowl in Barstow, CA. Unfortunately, this place is no longer a ten pin alley beacon along the Mother Road.

UPDATE : The Beacon Bowl is now Paradise Lanes. Unfortunately, the cool marquee is history. Many thanks to Andre Eubanks for update.

Check out the Pioneer Bowl for fun, pool, and games. The Pioneer Bowl is located in Pioneertown. Pioneertown was built in 1946 as a set for Western themed movies. Many famous actors and scenes were filmed here.

The bowling alley itself is a throwback in a location that's a throwback all its own. The interior features an unique mural that hearkens back to the old west days.

UPDATE 07/06 : Pioneertown was threatened by a massive wildfire in July 2006. Fortunately, the movie set itself was saved. 07-06

While in passing through the Indio town, stop for a couple bowling games at the Desert Bowl. Not interested in the ten pin alley. Then shoot a game of pool.
