This old sign is for the Tower Lodge Motel in Chula Vista, CA. This sign design is common and was once part of a chain. According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the 35 year old Tower Lodge was to be demolished in 2007 and replaced with apartments. 12-08
Dolphin Hotel

Yes, yes, the sign does say "hotel" and not "motel".
The marquee screams motel though, so the Dolphin Hotel has a home on this motels page for the time being. From the looks of things,
it appears that the marquee lettering is of the neon variety. Wonder what
the sign looks like at night.

The Mt Vernon Inn in Escondido sports not just one but two marquee pointing the way to the
motel. The two signs appear to have been built in two different eras from
the looks of things. 05-05
