Here are a couple of former Chili Bowl restaurants still found in Southern California. The Chili Bowl chain started in 1931.

Kim ChuyOwner and programmatic entrepreneur Arthur Whizin used to offer raffled rides on the Chili Bowl airplane. The cafes phased out when World War II started, leaving only the Pico Boulevard Chili Bowl open to feed Santa Monica Douglas aircraft workers.
