Ban-Dar (Demolished)
Ventura, CA Photo by RoadsidePeek.com
Here's the Cafe Voltaire'sBan-Dar of Ventura.
While in the area, check out one of the hot bands that are in town.
Unfortunately, the Ban-Dar closed down and was demolished in 2002. One
of the great mid-century marquees and a treasure of a building, not to
mention the club itself, has reached its destination... being bulldozed

The angles on this Ban-Dar sign look somewhat like a tail fin to
a jet. Tshis is a shot of the sign from the 1990's back when the place was still open.

Any place with a name like the Outrigger must be a good place
to visit. Check out this marquee.

The marquee for Barney Steele's is an old vintage sign that appears
bronzed in the latter day sunlight.
Bambu Hut (Gone)
Ontario, CA Photo by RoadsidePeek.com
Check out the Bambu
Hut marquee. A good looking neon type of sign, the Bambu Hut also
has an ATM inside! See more Roadside Tikis from Southern California at Roadside Peek's Roadside Tiki Southern California.
UPDATE 03/05 : The Bambu Hut is history. Many thanks to Dan MacPherson for update. 03-05
Lin-Brook Inn
Anaheim, CA Photo by RoadsidePeek.com
The Lin-Brook Inn is a an old watering hole in Anaheim
with a marquee out front that looks to be just as old. Stop by while on
the way back from Disneyland. Unfortunately, you can't anymore, since
the Lin-Brook Inn ain't no more.

Here's a couple of shots of a Van Nuys favorite. The Liquid Zoo.
An interesting name for a bar. Check out the neon lettering on the side of the building.
(Far right) A shot of the neon showing off the cocktail lounge part of the place
