Long a standby off the Las Vegas Strip, the New Frontier Casino and its immense marquee has held its own among the sea of neon since 1955.

The New Frontier Casino in Las Vegas was to have shut its doors one minute after midnight Monday morning July 16, 2007. According to the website lasvegasfocus.com, the implosion will be planned for sometime early next year. The new owners will then build a Plaza Hotel in its place, like the Plaza Hotel in New York. new owners of the land are going to spend between 5 and 7 billion dollars to build a Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, which will resemble the Plaza hotel in New York.

This news is no real surprise after its neighbor, the Stardust, met its demise last year and was imploded earlier in 2007. The New Frontier is well known on the Strip and the huge marquee can be seen for blocks. 07-07
