This marquee is for the Log Cabin Lodge in Gallup, New Mexico. This roadside motel off of Route 66 has been vacant for many years after holding the distinction of being a motor court with actual log cabin lookalikes for motel rooms. Each log cabin featured a kitchenette and fireplace. According to the book Route 66 in New Mexico, the Log Cabin Lodge opened in July 1938 and closed in the 1990's after going through multiple owners. The motel sat vacant for 10 years then after a fire struck the venerable lodge in April 2004, the motel has been demolished.

The Log Cabin Lodge was along one of several multi block stretches of motels. While some motels still exist, much has been lost off the Mother Road in the past 20 years.

Here are more photos of the Log Cabin Lodge that used to grace Route 66 in Gallup. The photo below reflect the motel office all boarded up and awaiting its eventual fate with a bulldozer. There is also a photo of the Log Cabin Lodge in what likely was its last winter snowfall.
