Check out this old marquee for the House of Wigs. Doesn't this
place remind you of an old downtown shopping area. Can even imagine the
smell of popcorn and candy wafting from a neighboring Woolworths.

The glass on this neon still look ok, so the lack of nighttime neon on
this sign for the American Poultry Co. may be more of a store decision
than anything else.

The Carroll Travel Service sign is a throwback to the
earlier era when neon signs were plentiful and small mom and pop shops
were all the rage.

The Conklin Bros sits in San Mateo, CA, advertising its carpets
and rugs to traveler and local shopper alike. The marquee out front is
a throwback to the era when these type of specialty shops were commonplace.
The Western Mountaineering business took over an old
sign that still had the shapes from yesteryear. Unfortunately, this sign
recently came down, now destined for memory ... or the scrap heap.
