The 101 Drive-in Theatre was a familiar sight and a frequent stop for locals as well as travelers passing up or down the 101 Freeway in Ventura.

UPDATE : For the past few years, the 101 Drive-in operated seasonally because the city would not allow "swap meet only" business on the property. Many thanks to drive-in sleuth Warren Meyers for update.

UPDATE 09/01 : Well, like many of its fellow ozoners, the 101 Drive-in Theatre in Ventura was demolished sometime in early August, 2001. Many thanks to Jeff Babb for September update on the 101's fate. 09-01

Simi Valley Drive-in (Demolished)

Near the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley is the Simi Valley Drive-in. A swap meet in recent years, the Simi appears to be on shaky footing with new housing development all around. It would not be a surprise to see this drive-in disappear soon. The Simi Valley Drive-in Theatre stopped opening for movies the summer of 1997.

UPDATE : The Simi Drive-in met its fate with a bulldozer in early 2001.
