Yes, it is the landmarkAlex Theatre in Glendale. Best known for
its Starburst on top of it's supremely long pillar (oh, and entertainment
too), the Alex stands tall amongst the typical 90's redevelopment alongside
it.
Montclair Theatre (Demolished)

The Montclair Theatre in Montclair features the old classic script
writing in eye catching lettering on its street side. Unfortunately, this
theatre closed down and was completely demolished. The theatre dates back to 1967.
Fox Riverside

The Fox Riverside Theatre is still intact although it
was closed at the time this photos was taken. This theatre first opened
in 1927 and proudly displays the Mission Revival look that's also quite
prevalent around the area. From time to time films are still shown here.
UPDATE 09/17 : The Fox Theatre reopened as a 1,600 seat entertainment venue after closing for renovation in 2007. The theatre is now known as the Fox Performing Arts Center. 09-17
Fox Theatre

The Fox
Theatre in downtown Fullerton still features its rooftop sign
as well as the familiar Fox script lettering on the front facade. This
theatre was threatened with demolition in 2004, however after great effort,
the Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation now owns the Fox Fullerton Theatre.
This was a great victory for the community that rallied behind the preservation
of this landmark that was built in the 1920's.
Academy Theatre

The Academy Theatre is a 1930's era theatre complete with streamline deco elements. The Academy and its tall pillar marquee is a real sight to see from blocks away. The Academy was housing a church when this photo was taken. 01-06
