449'er Bar

Not sure what the history is behind this name, but here's the 449'er Bar in Elko, Nevada in its neon glory.

 

 

Playhouse

The neon sign for the Playhouse looks rather serpentine at night as the bulb chasers swoop through to the martini glass. This location is found off the main drag.

The sign even features a martini glass at the tip.

 

 

Zanzibar Lounge (Closed)

The Zanzibar Lounge features a great looking tropical palm tree sign out front.

 

UPDATE 03/09 : Two former roadside businesses along Reno's main drag Virginia Street will be torn down soon after a Reno City Council meeting this past week. The Zanzibar Motel and the Zanzibar Lounge had been closed for some time and are located in a Reno redevelopment district near the Peppermill and Atlantis casinos. 03-09
