 Hot Dog Haus (Gone)

The steep A-frame roof of Hot Dog Haus made it stand out long before you noticed the sign. With a drive-thru tucked around back, it had all the ingredients of a classic roadside stop from the heyday of America's fast-food boom.
The building originally began life as a Der Wienerschnitzel drive-thru before becoming the Hot Dog Haus. Its distinctive A-frame design made it easy to spot along Northeast 82nd Avenue, inviting hungry motorists to pull off the road for a quick bite before continuing on their way.
Like so many roadside restaurants, time eventually brought change. The building has since been remodeled for other uses, but if you know what to look for, the original A-frame footprint still gives away its fast-food roots.
UPDATE: The former Hot Dog Haus building now serves as Ty's Rides LLC, a used car dealership. Although heavily remodeled, traces of its distinctive A-frame design can still be recognized today. 07-26
