Here's an abandoned theater that looks like it Galion Theatre The Galion Theatre in Galion, OH features a deco front facade which now list movies playing and very distinctive features.
The Norwalk Theatre of Norwalk, OH is a standard neighborhood theatre that fortunately still looks to be open for business.
Here's the Joy Youth Center, a former theater which was in a semi old run down part of town.
Here's an old deco palace that's no longer catering to sold out crowds. As a matter of fact, this place is now defunct.
The Heart Theatre of Effingham, IL makes abundant us of architectural glass block. This theatre may still be in business and proudly displays reddish heart lettering above its facade. Here's the Lincoln Theatre of Massilon, OH. Seats appear to be cheap at $3 a pop. 11-00
A classic theatre that just recently closed down is the venerable Olympic Theatre in Cicero, IL. Now advertising office space, the Olympic's marquee still stands guard. Update 07/07 : We are re-opening the olympic theatre in Cicero Illinois. We are going to have plays, bands and cinema production. We have remolded and added state of the art lighting and sound equipment. It will be available for rent during this summer. Many thanks to Jim Pontrelli for update. 07-07
In Danville, IL stands the Times Theatre. Well, at least until recently. Sadly, the Times on Route 1 was demolished to make way for a new-fangled drive-thru pharmacy.
The Will Rogers Theatre in IL is a great place to catch a $2.00 first-run movie. Or at least marvel at the past colors and deco structure.
The Watseka Theatre has been closed for some time but is a great Art Deco monument US 24 Watseka, IL
Welcome to the Mt. Union Theatre of Alliance, OH. The lettering on the front facade resemble an old boarding school's.
