Route 66The Highway Diner in Winslow, AZ still features its old red and white paint scheme. This old diner is located off of Route 66, and has been around since 1947. The diner has been called Monday's Cafe and Irene's in the past and received a restoration grant in 2008. The place still was closed during a run through in 2010. For more information, see the Kansas Historical Society website. 09-08

UPDATE 05/20 : Ok, this diner looks no where like this these days. After watching the paint of this diner change over the past couple of decades, the diner stopped serving food a long time ago. Will plan to have a Lost Treasures feature on this old Valentine diner sometime soon. 05-20

Check out the 5 & Diner that appeared to be a restaurant that tried to take on the diner look, an effort that was popular 25 years ago. In fact around this time, Denny's was remodeling many of their restaurants to a diner look. 06-23
