Uncle King's (Demolished)
Kingman, AZ

Route 66Uncle King's in Kingman on the old 66 still features a fine marquee outside of its restaurant. This sign is a real standout and can be seen from quite a distance away. Check out the multiple colors on the lettering and the little bulbs within each letter. This familiar roadside sight is a must see visit on any trip to Kingman.

UPDATE 02/09 : Uncle King's Restaurant is gone and replaced with a Panda Express Restaurant. 02-09

Entre Chinese Restaurant (Removed)

Route 66Looking for some Chinese eats while heading off the 66 in Winslow, AZ? Well, you won't be able to miss the huge sign for the Entre' Chinese Restaurant with its unique look.

Although the restaurant is still in business today, this fantastic marquee was replaced by a plain looking sign a couple of years ago.

UPDATE 09/21 : The Entre Chinese Restaurant has survived all the way though 2021 and even survived the pandemic thus far. It's too bad the sign was replaced not too long after this photo was taken in 1998. The sign was huge and unique. The busines opened in 19589 and originally was known for its char-broiled steaks and sandwiches. The Entre even sold locally made jewelry. 09-21

The Golden Moon Chinese Restaurant is a place to stop to check out neon and grab a bite. Can't quite vouch for the food, but the sights are nice.

UPDATE 04/17 : The Golden Moon Palace closed down in 2015. The neon signs are another lost treasure from Van Buren. 04-17

The New Hong Kong Restaurant in Phoenix features lit up neon signage from the 1950's that captures the essence of the night scene along the road as dusk approaches for the evening. Not sure what this last sentence all means, but it sounded good.

UPDATE 09/21 : The New Hong Kong Restaurant has survived into 2021. The neon sign also survives. The restaurant actually clhanged ownership in December 2020 and changed from a Chinese Buffet to a cuisine featuring Chinese American dishes. 09-21

ABC Restaurant (Gone)

Route 66Here's the ABC Restaurant located on old Route 66 in Kingman serving up Chinese food fare. The sign has been a can't miss sign on the east end of Route 66 in Kingman.

The ABC Restaurant was originally opened as Johnson's King's Arms Restaurant in the early 1960s with a shield instead of a cocktail glass as part of the marquee. Later the sign called out the ABC Buffet for at least a decade. Today, the restaurant is home to a restaurant named the India Spice-N-Bar.

UPDATE 09/21 : Here are more photos of the ABC Restaurant from a couple of decades ago. Will have photos of the signs through the years as well. 09-21
