When you think of the old west, one of the towns that come to mind is Tombstone, AZ. Tombstone dates back to 1877 and became populated after a silver strike in the area. The term wild west became a good description of Tombstone as the town built up quickly with saloons, red light districts, eateries as well as churches and schools.

Within, Tombstone a famous sight is the scene of the O.K. Corral where on October 26, 1881 Marshal Virgil, Wyatt, and Morgan Earps and Doc Holliday met the Clanton-McLaury gang. The 30 second gunfight left Billy Clanton and the McLaury brothers dead and Virgil, Morgan, and Doc wounded. 07-23

Boothill Graveyard

Tombstone, AZ is known as the "town too tough to die". Over the early years, the town was known for its gunslingers, sharp-shooters, and gun fights. Between 1878 to 1884, the Tombstone Cemetery became home to mostly the buried outlaws.

The cemetery became the Boothill Graveyard in 1919. Notables such as Billy Clanton and Tom and Frank McLaury are buried at Boothill. Billy Clanton is the most popular poltergeist in Tombstone and is said to rise from his grave each night and meanders throughout Tombstone, packing his pistol. Another ghost is the Godfather also known as the Lady in Red. 07-23
