Check out this googie sign outside of the Courtesy Coffee Shop in Blythe. Although the marquee still stands, the funny object sticking up from the sign's crowndisappeared a couple of years ago (right photo).

Far right is a more recent photo of the marquee, without the thingy on top.

Here's a shot of the exterior of the Courtesy Coffee Shop. The coffee shop was closed.

International Cafe (Gone)
Yermo, CA

Here's the International Cafe in Yermo, CA ready to serve some hot hearty meals to travelers off the interstate. The International Cafe was built in 1965 and has been a real eye-catcher for those passing off the I-15. The cafe closed down after falling into disrepair in recent years.

(Far left) The eye-catching and tall cafe sign pointing in the direction of the International Cafe in Yermo

(Near left) The structural supports and angular roofline for the International made this building something special.

Unfortunately, the vacant restaurant burned to the ground on August 22, 2008. According to the Desert Dispatch, the International Cafe was "destroyed by a suspicious fire of undetermined cause".

The trip on the interstate between Los Angeles and Las Vegas just got a little lonelier. 12-08
