The Los Altos Drive-in met the fate of the bulldozer during Pacific
Theatre's blitz at the end of 1998. According to the "sign-man"
Mr. Albert G., the old marquee will be preserved by the city. Meanwhile,

The Roadium is one of newer "abandoned" drive-in theatres.
The screen and marquee sports great pastel colors. Now a swap-meet, stop
here for pastel colored crayons and colored pencils. But be prepared to
fight the traffic, especially on weekends.

The Vermont Drive-In in the South Bay was once the 4th
remaining drive-in in the Los Angeles County. The site was gutted and
new development is all around.

The South Bay Six opened to much fanfare in the 1970's.
A self-proclaimed "state of art" drive-in with multi-screens,
this open air rage is now permanently closed for remodeling. Perhaps the
old snack bar will soon become a "Spires" restaurant?
