4 Queens

Here's the 4 Queens in downtown Las Vegas. The 4 Queens has been in operation in downtown Las Vegas since 1966 right along Fremont Street. The casino is well known for its huge bulb lights calling out the name of the hotel. 07-07

 

 

Golden Nugget

Near the 4 Queens in downtown Las Vegas is the Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel. The Golden Nugget is one of the original downtown casinos opening its doors in August 1946. It was the most luxurious casino in Las Vegas. Hotel rooms were added by Steve Wynn in 1977 after which the facade was remodeled to its current look in 1983. s07-07

 

 

Binion's (Formerly the Horseshoe)

Downtown Fremont does not look quite the same without the Horseshoe. The Horseshoe declared bankruptcy several years ago and the name was bought out by Harrah's. Here's the Binion's facade.

Benny Binion opened the Horseshoe Club in August 1951. The name Horseshoe carried over for over 50 years until 2004. In March 2004, the casino was renamed Binion's Gambling Hall. 07-07

 

 

Fremont

Here's the Fremont Hotel as its recently seen. The Fremont Hotel and Casino as it's now known was built in May 1956 and was the tallest building in Nevada. The Ogden tower was added in 1963. Architect was the well known Wayne McAllister. 07-07
