The Nevada Landing Hotel and Casino has been a familiar sight off the I-15 since it opened in 1989. Together with its sister hotel the Gold Strike on the opposite side of the interstate, the two casinos would magically glow in the fast disappearing darkness between Stateline and Vegas.

On March 20, 2007, MGM Mirage closed the Nevada Landing with plans to build a planned community of affordable housing, shops, and a new casino. More info can be found at Wikipedia. 07-07
