The La Paloma Motel welcomes visitors trying to escape the busy
downtown area of Vegas. This marquee is a familiar sight to travelers heading north out of the Strip area into North Las Vegas.
UPDATE 12/08 : It appears that the La Paloma Motel has been demolished and is now an empty lot. The former motel sat in a diagonal across from the new Vegas Neon Museum on Las Vegas Blvd N. 12-08

UPDATE 05/09 : To the far right is an updated photo of the Starlite Motel in North Las Vegas. The Starlight is one of the last remaining roadside motels that still appear to serve traditional motel lodging in the area.

Here's the Vegas Chalet Motel marquee, at least the way it used to look when it hovered above the busy intersection. Unfortunately, this sign was removed and replaced with nondescript signage several years ago. 12-08

Check out this rustic looking sign for the Hitchin' Post Motel, located off the main drag in North Las Vegas. While many of the old signs are disappearing in the area, this marquee still stands.
The Hitchin' Post appears to have turned into a RV Park in recent years, while still having a saloon and restaurant in the complex. 12-08
