Not far from the old theaters of Fresno's Tower District is the vertical neon sign for International Furniture. The simple blade marquee still glows above Olive Avenue, a welcome sight at a time when many surviving neon signs are left dark or replaced with plastic and LEDs.

The family-owned furniture store has operated here since 1972, placing the sign among the neighborhood's collection of vintage storefronts and theater landmarks. Whether the marquee was installed for International Furniture or adapted from an earlier tenant remains uncertain.

UPDATE: International Furniture remains open, and its vintage neon blade sign is still maintained and illuminated. 09-26
