Skating Rinks Pacific Northwest

Albany Skateway (Removed)
Albany, OR

The Albany Skateway in Albany, OR features a tall sign designed to capture the eye of skating enthusiasts from blocks away. Unfortunately, like many of the skating rinks from decades back, the Albany Skateway is no more and the sign was removed in October 2008. According to the Albany Democrat-Herald, the Albany Skateway sign dates back to at least the 1960's. The property owner Dave Kuntz plans to store the sign which was built by Albany Sign Co. and is renting the building to people training for cage fighting. 12-08

The Grants Pass Skate Center in Grants Pass, OR features a great sign outside advertising "skate fun". Not 100% sure if this skate center is still around these days. 12-08
