Check out the Weatherford Hotel. This building housing the historic hotel in downtown Flagstaff has been gracing this corner since 1897. For many years this was the hotel to be at in Flagstaff after its grand opening on New Year's Day 2000. 05-20

 

Red Garter Inn

Here's the Red Garter Inn in Williams, AZ just off of Route 66. The Red Garter featured a saloon, general store, and a brothel after opening in 1897. These days the Red Garter Inn is still open as a bed and breakfast, though there are many tales and rumors that state this place is haunted. Perhaps that will make a stay over ever more interesting. 11-20

Stout's Hotel (99)
Gila Bend, AZ

Pass through the main street in Gila Bend, you will come across what looks to be an old historic hotel. What you will find is Stout's Hotel. Stout's Hotel was built between 1916 to 1929 in phases. The hotel met its demise when Interstate 8 was built in the mid-1970s.

Gila Bend acquired the hotel in 2017 with the intent of preserving it. The Stout's Hotel has been added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 2018. 11/20

 

 

 

 

 

Gadsden Hotel
Douglas, AZ

Douglas, AZ is home to the Gadsden Hotel which first opened in the town in 1907. The tallest building in Douglas, the hotel experienced a fire then was rebuilt in 1929 when all but the staircase burned down. The hotel features a lobby that has a 42 foot Tiffany-inspired glass mural. Gadsden used to be a mining industry. 07-23

San Carlos Apartments

The San Carlos Apartments is a historic apartment complex located near Armory Park in Tucson. Two of the houses on site dates back to 1880 with an addition in 1910. Another building was added in the 1920s. The San Carlos Apartments is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Some parts of the building was renovated in 2013 due to storm damage. 07-23

 

 

Tonto Hotel (Gone)
Globe, AZ

The New Tonto Hotel is located on a corner in Globe. The hotel opened in 1916 as the Murphy Hotel. Over time it became the Tonto Hotel. The hotel has been close for almost 50 years. Turns out this sign disappeared in the past 5 years. Not sure what happened to it. 07-23
