Simi Valley Drive-in (Demolished)
Simi Valley, CA
Photo RoadsidePeek.com

Near the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley is the Simi Valley Drive-in. A swap meet in recent years, the Simi appears to be on shaky footing with new housing development all around. It would not be a surprise to see this drive-in disappear soon.

Update : The Simi Drive-in met its fate with a bulldozer in early 2001.

The Crest Drive-in Theatre of Bakersfield appears to be for sale now. This grand theatre just off Route 99 will soon disappear off the roadside landscape.

Update : The Crest Drive-in met its fate with a bulldozer in 2003.

Off Route 99 in Hanford, California is the Kings Drive-in Theatre. A rather unique ticket booth adorns this drive-in site, however the screen tower is rather drab. Nothing like racing against the clock to see the ticket booth though...

Located just off the US 101 in San Luis Obispo, California is the Sunset Drive-in Theatre. Remarkably seen from many points within the city, the Sunset Marquee is a distinct eye catcher.

Woodward Park Drive-in (Demolished)
Fresno, CA

Despite its location in the middle of the Central desert of California, Fresno is a very active city. From movie theaters to drive-ins, Fresno has fun for everyone. Take the Woodward Park Drive-in Theatre for example. Always seemingly busy on weekends.

Update 07/06 : After its last years of summer-only movies, the Woodward Park Drive-in closed down in late June 2002 and was replaced by Costco and Home Depot in 2003. Many thanks to Brian Snyder for update. 07-06

Sunnyside Drive-in Theatre (Demolished)
Fresno, CA
Photo RoadsidePeek.com

A drive-in that's on the "sunnyside" literally (at least when taking photos) is the Sunnyside Drive-in of Fresno. Another of Fresno's fun and games sites, the Sunnyside's main screen was once the "world's largest" screen tower. Many thanks to Andy Callahan for the above info.

Update 07/06 : The Sunnyside Drive-in Theatre closed down in the late 1990's and was demolished in 2004. 07-06
