Welcome to Seat Cover City, established in 1953. Home to seat covers of all types. And home to local legend Joe Gottlieb of "Come Down From the Pole Joey" fame.
This sign advertising Joe Gottlieb's Corner is another sign right around the corner of the Seat Cover City front entrance and main sign.
This neon sign still stands outside of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bakersfield, CA.
Here's a shot of the "world famous" Tagus Country Theatre sign in the Tulare/Visalia area. Tagus Ranch has quite a history in the Central valley, including serving as a camp for German and Italian prisoners back during World War II. Current word is that Tulare would like to develop around the area. For more, see Roadside Peek's Spotlight on the Tagus Country Theatre.
This old business in Bakersfield, CA is the Seabreeze with its neon script sign.
Here's another auto electrician sign located in Bakersfield. Check out this one for Gene & Larry. Not sure if the neon still works these days.
Check out this rather lonely sign stuck out in trailer park lot in Bakersfield. Not sure if this trailer park is still around or whether or not any trailers are still left.
