Stan Kite's Restaurant (Closed)

The Stan Kite Restaurant and barbeque is an old coffee shop that's met up with recent neglect. The marquee itself is something to marvel at but the location is sad and nostalgic.

This coffee shop has been closed for quite a few years.

Mel's Drive-in (formerly Ben Franks)

Off Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood is a former coffee shop now converted into a Mel's Drive-in. This Mel's location was once a Ben Frank's, which was a famous location that closed down in the mid-1990's. Fortunately, Mel's has maintained the googie structure has been a 24 hour hotspot on its own.

Lakewood Center (Removed)

The Hody's Restaurant was a Lakewood, California icon. Formerly located at the corner of Lakewood Blvd and Candlewood Ave, near the Lakewood Center, the restaurant closed down around 1970. The location was noted for its fine restaurant and drive-in service girls. 12-06

(Below) Rod's Coffee shop was a local hangout for customers back in the day. This coffee shop, also once located in Montebello, has gone through several iterations in recent years, including a stint as an Armenian restaurant.
