Sault Ste Marie, MI

This is the Clyde's Drive-in restaurant in Sault Ste Marie, MI. This Clyde's also features car hop service, a throw back to when this type of service was quite common. This Sault Ste Marie location is right on the St Mary's River and probably one of the few drive-ins where the customers back in. Backing in allows the outside diner to watch passing ships. 12-08

Formerly located on East Main, at the corner of S. Cassingham, in the Columbus suburb of Bexley, this unique glass block building is long gone. The site of the former Glass Bowl Drive-in restaurant is now occupied by a Penn Station East Coast Subs shop. 02-09

Here's the Triple XXX Root Beer from West Lafayette, IN. This Triple XXX was the first drive-in in Indiana, although I am not sure if they still have the carhops or not. It is in West Lafayette real close to the Purdue University campus. For more photos and info, see Roadside Peek's Spotlight on the Triple XXX Root Beer of West Lafayette, IN. 04-09
